Polar Bear Country

Polar Bear Country was written by the Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 Classes at Wasaho Cree Nation School in Fort Severn First Nation, Ontario with the help of their teachers Heather Weeks and Sherri Curtis. The book was created in collaboration with Kwayaciiwin Education resource Centre. 

 

Polar Bear Country is a first hand look at what it is like living in the most northern First Nation Community in Ontario where polar bear roam freely and certain precautions are necessary, especially for children. Be careful of Polar bears... "They could eat you, so never try to hug one." 

Polar Bear Country was Released in 2014.
