Technology in the Classroom

Technology is neither the barrier nor the catalyst for student growth. Their growth depends entirely on how we use that technology.

Over the past several years, Kwayaciiwin has greatly expanded its’ Technology in the Classroom initiatives. We support implementation of initiatives that:

  1. reflect current common practices in school boards across the country, for example the use of Ipads, Chromebooks and Gsuite (formerly known as Google Apps for Education);

  2. blend meaningful traditional and digital learning through “tradigital” activities;

  3. introduce technological tools that spark STEAM creativity and innovation.

STEAM is an exciting, engaging educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are skills that open wider career and lifestyle opportunities for students.

"The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process."

The Tech team at Kwayaciiwin is dedicated to assisting teachers in supporting their students to be the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century! Our intent is to ensure that students in the schools we serve are not just “not left behind” but that they are provided with meaningful opportunities to be “ahead of the game”.
