PDF ISO 1101.2:2007 (withdrawn) was not adopted. ISO 1101 is not a general GXS standard. It does not apply to objects other than technical drawings or other geometric products or to any type of tolerances other than those of form, orientation, position, and runout. This is a geometrical tolerance, and therefore the ISO 10360 series of standards are applicable. ISO 1101:2007 (withdrawn) is only for form, orientation and position and lacks the precision of ISO 10360:2012. The omission of position is not a mistake, as this tolerance is not intended for geometric products. The ISO 1101 series of standards are produced by the ISO Technical Committee 86 Subcommittee 1.1.5 on geometric product specifications (GPS), and ISO Technical Committee 101 Subcommittee 3.1.2.1 on geometric tolerancing (ISO/TC171/SC1/WG1). 1101.1:2012 The first edition, ISO 1101:1998 (previously 1:1998) was originally intended to include tolerances for orientation, position, runout and form. It has been superseded by ISO 10360-2:1998, and the first edition has become a withdrawn ISO standard, ISO 1101:1998 (withdrawn). This Standard is intended to apply to geometric objects such as technical drawings, architectural drawings, and similar technical or commercial documents, to the extent that their positioning, orientation and size are normally specified. For those objects the specification of a tolerance zone, i.e. the allowable range of position, orientation and size, would normally be made in accordance with ISO 10360-2:1998. For the purpose of this Standard the zone of a feature may be specified with regard to position, with or without orientation (with the position of the feature specified along two mutually perpendicular axes), and, where used, with or without the provision of runout tolerance in a specified direction. In the case of runout tolerance ISO 10360-2:1998 provides the specification of the angle of each specified direction in which runout occurs. ISO 1101.1 was withdrawn and replaced by ISO 1101.1:2007 The current version, ISO 1101.1:2007, can be found at the ISO Standards database and the ISO website. A detailed and updated specification of the basic concepts, principles and practice of ISO 1101 can be found in ISO 10360. ISO 10
