This week on Tuesday, May 14 and Thursday May 16, KERC's Executive Director, Christina Meekis, attended graduation ceremonies at Pelican Falls First Nation High School (Tuesday) in Pelican Falls First Nations, and at Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School in Thunder Bay (Thursday) to present two students with the KERC Language Award. Both events were well attended and featured many strong leaders and role models such as Sol Mamakwa and Romeo Saganash as speakers and presenters.
Penelope Roundhead from Weagamow from Pelican Falls High School and Shawnda Mamakwa from Kingfisher Lake from Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School were the recipients of the Language awards. Congratulations to the winners and all of the graduates this year.
