Academic Readiness Project Work Plan Priorities
- Develop resources and implementation of Immersion Anihshiniimowin with six existing communities.
- Complete development of cultural and language curriculum guidelines for Grades K - 8.
- Develop literacy and numeracy supports for the district.
- Develop an assessment system to measure success
- Build Sioux Lookout education staff capacity to deliver an academic readiness program.
- Implement curriculum across the Sioux Lookout District.
FNSSP Work Plan Priorities
KERC is a partner in the overall NAN initiative, the First Nation Student Success Program (FNSSP). FNSSP provides support for improved learner outcomes in K-12 schools on-reserve. The goal of the program is to support educators in planning and making improvements in 3 priority areas:
- Literacy
- Numeracy; and
- Student Retention
KERC's FNSSP priorities for 2011 - 2012 are:
- Implementation of the comprehensive school success planning process.
- Development and implementation of a comprehensive process for student learning assessments.
- Development and implementation of performance measurements and indicators of success
